Consultant Haematologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary and has specialist interests in haemoglobin disorders (Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia), other red cell disorders and General Haematology.

Dr Kate Ryan is presently Consultant Haematologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary and has specialist interests in haemoglobin disorders (Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia), other red cell disorders and General Haematology. She is also Clinical Lead for the Haematology Laboratory.

Other roles include Chair of NHS England Clinical Reference Group for Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Commissioning, Chair of NEQAS General Haematology Steering group and advisor to NICE, the National Laboratory Screening Committee and NEQAS
