University Dental Hospital of Manchester

The University Dental Hospital of Manchester (UDHM) is one of the key specialist dental and major teaching hospitals in the UK, undertaking the training of postgraduate and undergraduate dental students, student dental nurses and hygienist therapists.

Research at UDHM is a collaborative effort between the hospital and the University of Manchester, covering two broad groups: basic science and healthcare science.

Basic science research focuses on molecular and structural biology, encompassing programs in craniofacial disorders, oral cancer, periodontal disease, and paediatric dentistry.

Healthcare science research includes health services research, systematic reviews, clinical craniofacial research, caries and diagnostic research, oral radiology and imaging, oral implant research, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
