Dr Janet Suckley
Consultant Physiotherapist / Directorate Clinical Lead
Janet is a consultant physiotherapist and registered osteopath at CMFT. She is a research champion within the organization and leads on research, education, and audit within the Directorate of Adults and Community Specialist Services.
She is a fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine and has an honorary contract with The University of Manchester. She is also a visiting lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she teaches osteopathic technique.
Her clinical interests lie in the field of MSK medicine and surgery, and she works both in the community and the hospital-based clinics. She is currently involved in a qualitative study of patients’ experiences of the major trauma pathway at CMFT and continues to work with the ROAM research team at The University of Manchester.
She joined the Research User Group (RUG) within the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Epidemiology a few years ago and is a long-standing member of the Arthritis Research UK USER committee. She is a faculty associate at NHS R&D North West and an AHP representative for The Centre for Professional Workforce Development, Health Education North West. We run a monthly journal club (BestBETs) in the MSK service and Janet chairs a bimonthly directorate-wide research support group.
