Julie Harrison
Project Lead – CityVerve Health & Social Care Theme
Julie, an experienced NHS nurse of 18 years, is currently on secondment as Project Lead for the Health & Social Care Theme, in the exciting new CityVerve project. The CityVerve programme brings together the brightest minds and pioneering use of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to redefine ‘smart’ in the context of a living, working city. In her, home role as Community Integrated Team Manager at CMFT, Julie is responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing leadership and operational management within the community, within her role as Community Integrated Team Manager in the Moss Side & Rusholme areas. During her 11 years community experience, Julie has been a community matron, become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner following completion of a Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. She has also been a team lead within Intermediate Care, operationally managed Primary Care Emergency Centre at Manchester Royal Infirmary and developed Active Case Management service, the Care Home Support team and Community Macmillan. More recently, Julie has been part of the new Community Integrated Model. Prior to community experience, Julie was a Cardiac Intensive Care nurse and a Senior Bed Manager in South Manchester. Julie has successfully managed multiple projects within the community dating back to 2008 being awarded funding via the Health Foundation to carry out a project to look into the need to spread the case management approach across nursing and residential setting. This project was highly commended in the HSJ Awards and was highly commended in the Nursing Times Awards.
