CMFT put Manchester on the map for research study delivery

Q1 2015/2016 NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) performance data reveals that CMFT is in second place nationally for recruitment into diabetes studies, with 594 participants recruited for this period.

CMFT was also the highest recruiter across all specialities in Greater Manchester (GM; 2122 participants) for this period, and had the greatest number of open studies in Greater Manchester (170).

The GM area as a whole, which includes East Cheshire and East Lancashire, is in tenth place nationally for total recruitment (8,001 people have participated in 506 research studies across GM so far this financial year).  GM came first in England for recruitment to stroke studies and fourth in recruitment to diabetes research.

Well done to our research colleagues for their continued dedication towards providing patients with the opportunity to participate in research studies, alongside their other treatment options.
