Dr Khambalia appointed to international young investigator’s committee for pancreas and islet transplant
Congratulations to Dr Hussein Khambalia, transplant surgical trainee at Manchester Royal Infirmary who has been appointed to the International Pancreas and Islet Transplant Association’s (IPITA) Young Investigator’s Committee.
The IPITA formed the Young Investigator’s Committee in 2014 to encourage more interaction between trainee members and senior members to advance research and activities in the field of islet and whole pancreas research.
The committee is currently working on a number of deliverable projects, including a mentorship programme, a chat forum to help foster discussions and a database of funding resources for young investigators.
Dr Khambalia said of his appointment: “I am passionate about enhancing international scientific and clinical collaborations between members of the IPITA YIC and increasing engagement of trainee members with the activities of the IPITA YIC.
“I believe we can exceed the goals and objectives that IPITA YIC has agreed and that we can complete the ambitious “Deliverable Projects” that IPITA YIC has set and I’m honoured to be selected onto The Committee.”
