Ear, nose and throat research team lead recruitment for national study
Congratulations to the ear, nose and throat research team, led by Professor Simon Lloyd, Consultant Otolaryngologist and Skull Base Surgeon, who have successfully recruited five patients to the QuicKfire study. This is just over 41% of the UK’s recruitment target of 12 patients across four UK sites.
The QuicKfire study is investigating whether repeat doses of the drug AUT00063 has the potential to improve the ability of people with cochlear implants to discriminate speech against a noisy background.
A special thanks goes to Rojy Santosh, Unai Martinez de Estibariz, Deborah Mawman and Dr Martin O’Driscoll and Bradley Tallon for their hard work on the study.
