Early career part-time funded Masters in Clinical Research studentships
Exciting opportunity for registered nurses/midwives, currently working in clinical practice, as a Band 5 staff nurse/midwife, within Central Manchester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT), who would relish the opportunity of commencing a fully funded Masters in Clinical Research (MRes) in September 2016.
The ideal candidate should have one to two years post qualifying experience and have a passion for research and have demonstrated a strong performance in their nursing/ midwifery degree, ideally a 2:1 or above.
The University of Manchester is able to fully fund three MRes studentships commencing in September 2016. The MRes is an ideal course for healthcare professionals who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge in research and seek a career in research or wish to pursue a variety of careers where research is a core component. The course provides an ideal foundation for PHD study. The course is mainly delivered online, but includes two 4 day campus-based study schools during September and January and two mid-semester days.

In order to be considered for this opportunity, Band 5 nurses/ midwives should have:
- One to two years clinical experience
- Be iterested in developing their research skills, enhancing their clinical practice and promoting research in clinical practice with a view to deciding whether they wish to pursue a clinical academic career in the future.
- Have Line Management support
You will commence the MRes programme in September 2016, working part time in CMFT for 3 days/week (0.6 WTE) and seconded to undertake the programme at the University of Manchester on a part time basis for 2 days/week (0.4 WTE). Salary replacement costs will be met by the University of Manchester.
