Five Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) clinicians are among 15 outstanding individuals announced by Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC), part of Health Innovation Manchester, as Honorary Clinical Chairs for 2024.
The MAHSC Honorary Clinical Chairs are awarded on an annual basis by The University of Manchester’s Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health Promotions Committee. They are awarded to individuals who have made a major contribution to their clinical specialty, including excellence in research and education.
MAHSC is designated as an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) by NHS England and NHS Improvement and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). It brings together MFT, The University of Manchester, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, and the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust to undertake world-leading research to tackle diseases, develop new treatments and transform patient care.
Jonathan Massey, Health Innovation Manchester’s Programme Director for Academia, said: “The University of Manchester awards these Honorary Clinical Chairs to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of these distinguished individuals to our AHSC’s mission of advancing health and care research, education, and patient experience.
