Focus on Nutrition, Trauma and the Elderly: opportunities to improve clinical care

Event details

Wednesday 9th December from 17:30 – 19:30

Networking event hosted by the MAHSC Inflammation and Repair Domain for clinicians, allied health professionals and scientists who wish to explore where collaboration can enhance clinical care and translational research.

Assessments of, and improvements to, nutritional interventions are essential for preventing chronic disease and for healing, particularly in the elderly population.  There is an opportunity for MAHSC partners to work together to improve outcomes for elderly patients by developing nutritional screening and interventions, both as in-patients and in the community as part of rehabilitation programmes.

Expected outcomes for the event include:

  • Ideas for cross-boundary collaboration and ideas for grant applications in field of nutrition, ageing, frailty and trauma.
  • Raise awareness of nutritional issues to educate clinicians and commissioners
  • Initial plans for implementation

The event is free to attend but registration is essential.
