Funding call: public engagement and outreach projects in biomedical research and health

Up to £5000 per application is up for grabs through the Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund. The scheme is open to staff and postgraduate students across the University, but projects must be led by an academic member of staff in Faculty of Life Sciences or Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences.

The deadline for applications is 4 April 2016 (outcome announced by 22 April 2016).

Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their ideas with ISSF Public Engagement Advisory Group (PEAG) before making a submission.

Do you need strategic advice and/or practical support in public engagement?

The Public Programmes Team, a not-for-profit partnership between The University of Manchester and Central Manchester Hospitals, provides a high-quality public involvement and engagement service.

Our aim is simply to involve and engage people from all walks of life in biomedical and health-related research.  We do this by providing strategic advice, developing and implementing public involvement and engagement projects, and undertaking quantitative and qualitative research in this area.
