Janette gained her Bachelor of Nursing degree in 1994 and started her nursing in medical and vascular surgery wards at CMFT. In 1997 she took up a post as vascular nurse specialist at University Hospital South Manchester, which involved setting up and running a nurse led clinic. It was during this post that Janette first became interested in research, as she searched for the evidence behind clinical practice.

In 2011 she completed a Master in Clinical Research at The University of Manchester and became the Clinical Research Nurse Manager at CMFT reporting to and supporting the Lead Nurse for R&I in an operationally managerial role.

Janette commented on her appointment:

After 18 years of working as a clinical research nurse I am exceptionally delighted to have the privilege to be the Lead Nurse for R&I, in a division and Trust that I am very proud to work in. I look forward to continuing to work with you all and taking clinical research across nursing and midwifery to the next level at CMFT.
