New state-of-the-art Human Performance laboratory

The NIHR/WT Manchester Clinical Research Facility (CRF) has recently launched the use of state-of-the-art gait analysis equipment within its Human Performance Laboratory.

The equipment includes a 10-camera Qualisys infra-red 3-Dimension motion analysis system, integrated with two indwelling Kistler force platforms which can be used in clinical research for performance diagnostics.

The NIHR Manchester Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit are already utilising this equipment on the In-Respond study to biomechanically assess individuals with medial knee osteoarthritis and their interaction with lateral wedge insoles in a randomised trial.
