NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre website launches

NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) celebrates start of funding with the launch of a new website.

On the 1 April funding officially started for the NIHR Manchester BRC. The £28.5m BRC connects world-leading researchers based at The University of Manchester and four NHS Trusts in Greater Manchester, with a joint vision to drive forward the transformation of scientific breakthroughs into life-saving treatments and care for patients in the areas of:

  • Cancer (Advanced Radiotherapy, Cancer Precision Medicine, Cancer Prevention and Early Detection)
  • Dermatology
  • Hearing Health
  • Musculoskeletal Disease
  • Respiratory

Rapid Translational Incubator, Biomarker Platforms and Informatics and Data Sciences cross cutting themes will enable the BRC to rapidly translate our scientific discoveries into new tests, treatments, devices and preventative measures that benefit patients.

The website will act as a single point of reference for the BRC and features dedicated hubs for each Research Themes and will include the latests news and events from the BRC.

The Manchester BRC is hosted by Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The University of Manchester, in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. It is also supported by the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre and Northern Health Science Alliance.
