Professor Deborah Symmons awarded British Society for Rheumatology Distinguished Member Award
Congratulations to Professor Deborah Symmons on winning a prestigious Distinguished Member Award from the British Society for Rheumatology.
Deborah is a former Director of the Arthritis Research UK Epidemiology Unit (later Arthritis Research UK Centre for Epidemiology) and NIHR Manchester Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit, where she is currently the . She also works as an Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at Macclesfield District General Hospital (East Cheshire NHS Trust).
This award recognises her substantial achievements, which have gone ‘above and beyond’ normal duties, both as a consultant rheumatologist, and as an internationally renowned researcher and epidemiologist. She will be presented with her award at the BSR Spring Conference, and her name will be added to the ‘BSR Awards Roll of Honour’ on the BSR website.
