Research internships for nurses and allied health professionals

The National Institute for Health Research Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (NIHR CLAHRC) Greater Manchester has six funded internships available for registered nurses and allied health professionals (AHPs).

The CLAHRC aims to carry out high-quality research and put it into practice. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to be a part of projects that make a real difference to the health of people in Greater Manchester, as well as developing their own research skills.

The purpose of the internships is to provide an introduction to research for those registered nurses and AHPs interested in pursuing a clinical academic career in the future. The internships comprise 30 days between November 2016 and May 2017 which will be spent within CLAHRC Greater Manchester, with five days spent participating in a structured educational programme with the other interns. By the end of the internship, interns will be required to give an oral presentation reflecting on how their research skills have developed over the period of the internship.

  • The closing date for internship applications is Wednesday 12 October 2016.
  • Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place on Wednesday 20 October 2016.
