Research Midwives take the research rover to visit the maternity wards at Saint Mary’s
The research rover visited Saint Mary’s distributing study info and bringing midwives, doctors and health care practitioners up-to-date with all the current maternity studies.
The rover highlighted the latest research studies taking place and gave important signposting information to staff to help direct patients onto the studies that may be of relevance to them.
Researchers also announced a new initiative which provides midwives with certificate accreditation every time they get involved with screening an eligible participant; take part in disseminating study information, facilitate consent or support a study in any way. This means that midwives will be able to demonstrate their support for evidence based practice and save the certificate as evidence for revalidation in their portfolio.
The research rover generated a lot of interest in the clinical areas and highlighted shared goals of improving care for women and babies. It aims to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships through educating everyone about the work the research midwives do.
Look out for future Research Rover dates, the rover will return to Saint Mary’s in the spring with new study information and will be visiting all clinical areas across the Trust throughout 2016.
