Rheumatoid arthritis research study successful recruitment leads to new cellular study

Derek Ridings, BRU Research Nurse at the Kellgren Centre for Rheumatology has recruited the highest number nationally to the BRAGGSS study.

The study is researching whether clinical, serological, genetic and psychological factors can be used to predict response to biologic treatment in rheumatoid arthritis.

Following on from this success, Derek and the team at the Kellgren Centre have been chosen as the only site nationally to work on a new pilot cellular study organised by Arthritis Research UK and The University of Manchester. The study is researching whether individual responses to specific rheumatoid arthritis drug treatments can be predicted by exposing cellular subsets to biologic agents.
