Trial coordinators reach finals of Pharma Times International Researcher of the Year competition

Congratulations to Sasi Neelamekam and Anam Asif from Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who are finalists in the Clinical Research Site category at the 2017 Pharma Times International Clinical Researcher of the Year competition.

Sasi and Anam, who work as Senior Trial Coordinators in the Medicine and Community Division, will find out if they are winners at an awards ceremony on 18 May.

The nomination is the result of a rigorous application process, designed to test entrants’ competencies and skills in a real-life challenge against their peers.

Industry and academic researchers from all over the world enter, first having to complete an exam based on Good Clinical Practice, before being required to write and present an essay based on a clinical scenario before a panel of senior industry judges.

During the final stage, Sasi and Anam were also given a new scenario and just one hour to prepare a presentation based on how they would respond to problems during trial recruitment.

Competition organisers say that the raised professional profile of past winners has aided career development. All finalists receive mentoring and feedback on individual performance from the judging panel.

Good luck to Sasi and Anam.
