Research Champions
The role of the Research Champion is to act as a role model for those interested in a clinical academic career, to signpost people to research advice or resources as appropriate.
The research champions work with the Multi-professional Research Team and their Head of Nursing to lead the implementation of the strategy within their divisions. The role of the Research Champion has not been specifically prescribed in the Nurses, midwives and allied health professionals (NM&AHP) Research Strategy. The roles can carry across the divisions dependent upon the characteristics and activity of the clinical division in which they are based and the experience and aspirations of the Research Champions themselves.
The Research Champions in the R&I Division are:
- Janette Dunkerley – Lead Research Champion – Oxford Road Campus, Lead Nurse for R&I, completed Masters in Clinical Research
- Womba Mubita – Lead Research Champion – Oxford Road Campus, Senior Clinical Research Nurse, completed Masters in Clinical Research
- Sarah Lee – Associate Research Champion – Oxford Road Campus
- Anna Gipson – Associate Research Champion – Wythenshawe Hospital, Clinical Research Nurse
- Kate Whitehead – Associate Research Champion – Wythenshawe Hospital, Clinical Research Nurse
- Roxy Afzal – Associate Research Champion – Wythenshawe Hospital, Clinical Research Nurse
