Before you were Born is a free, family-friendly event hosted by the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre (MFHRC) based at St Mary’s Hospital at Central Manchester NHS Foundation Trust, who work in partnership with the University of Manchester.

On 2nd September from 3pm- 5pm, you and your family are invited to come long to Manchester Convention Centre to delve into to the world of life Before you were Born!  There will be a huge range of activities, games, and exhibits for kids and adults alike to explore what life was like inside the womb, and find out all about the cutting edge placenta research taking place in Manchester and across the world.

  • Interactive games and experiments
  • Opportunities to meet real-life scientists to find out what they do and how you can get involved
  • A Treasure Hunt (free sticker charts for children!)
  • A mock-up pregnancy clinic run by midwives who work at St. Mary’s Hospital in Manchester
  • Picture and Poetry exhibitions
  • Sculpture and drawing exhibition by artist Adinda van’t Klooster
  • And lots, lots more!
