Background

The Treatment of Advanced Glaucoma Study (TAGS) is a multicentre randomised controlled trial comparing primary medical treatment with primary trabeculectomy for people with newly diagnosed advanced glaucoma

What is the aim of the study?

The primary objective of this trial, which takes place at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, is to compare primary medical treatment with primary augmented trabeculectomy (glaucoma surgery) for patients presenting with advanced glaucoma
