PIMS

Doctors are always looking for ways that they can improve the lives and health of their patients, including research studies. Below are details of a study currently looking for volunteers.  Please use the contact details at the end of the page for more information.

Background

The Posturing In Macular Hole Surgery (PIMS) trial is an interventional study comparing facedown positioning with an inactive face forward position on the outcome of surgery for large macular holes.

What is the aim of the study?

It will determine whether advice to position facedown as opposed to face forward, improves the surgical success rate for large macular holes.

How can I get involved?

Please contact Josephine Awudza, Clinical Research Nurse josephine.awudza@cmft.nhs.uk /+44(0) 161 701 6205 at the Royal Manchester Eye Hospital for more information.
