Burns
The Burns Service at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is a regional service which consists of a 12 bedded ward and the Burns and Plastics Aftercare Clinic. We accept patients from all over the United Kingdom. We are a highly specialised and dedicated multidisciplinary team caring for burn patients with acute injury, including critical care, right through to their rehabilitation. We provide bespoke treatment including reconstructive surgery.
Our Burns Service manages over 800 new patients every year from birth to 16 years of age and we also provide an excellent transition pathway into adult services. We have strong links with the University of Manchester and the Manchester Metropolitan Universities and our research encompasses basic science and clinical research.
