Paediatric Ear Nose and Throat Surgery (ENT)
The Paediatric ENT research group at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is the leading centre for Paediatric ENT Research in the UK.
Children, young people and their families are at the centre of everything we do. Our research is led by Prof Iain Bruce, a member of the Standing Scientific Committee of the European Society of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ESPO), and Mrs Jaya Nichani, Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist. We have a vibrant post-graduate research (PGR) programme, offering PhD, MD and MPhil study and have secured extensive funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and industry.
We have a large research portfolio covering a wide range of clinical areas for both common and rare childhood disorders including:
- Airway obstruction in Children
- Bone Conduction Implants (BCI)
- Childhood Hearing Loss
- Cochlear implantation (CI)
- ENT disease in mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS)
- Outcomes Research
- Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB)
